Remember the Michaels grab bags I posted about here? The wreath was pretty, but not really my style. Plus, I need something practical I can use more than once a year. So I gave the wreath new life by turning it into Valentine’s Day decor.
I started by pulling off all the pieces on the wreath.
Most of them came off without a fight, but left a little glue behind. Not a problem. I just flipped it over and wrapped ribbon around it. This is the same ribbon I got in those amazing grab bags.
When I saw these fun hearts at the Dollar Tree the other day I knew they’d be perfect for my wreath.
Since these are foam they were easy to work with. All I had to do was take out the stick, trim it, and then reinsert it an an angle.
The hearts stuck perfectly in the wreath without having to use any glue.
The wreath was missing a little something, so I made a banner for it using my Silhouette. You can’t tell from here, but I filled in the Xs and Os with a heart pattern that was available as a freebie recently.
This is the first wreath I’ve made and I’m thrilled with the way it turned out! Nothing is glued on so it will be easy to take apart. I can use this same wreath base for every holiday just by switching out the embellishments.
