The Easiest Way To Cut A Pineapple

We always have a pineapple in the fridge. Aldi puts them on sale every few weeks for $1 so I buy a couple at a time. We love putting pineapple in smoothies or just eating it fresh. They’re such a mess to cut up though. I kept seeing this pineapple corer on Amazon, but was hesitant to buy it. I get every last bit of edible fruit out of the pineapple I buy just by using a knife. I wasn’t sure if I could do that with the corer. With as much pineapple as we eat, I decided to buy it and test it out.

I bought two pineapples similar in size.

The first pineapple was cut with a knife like I usually do.

I tested out the pineapple corer on the second pineapple. First the top of the pineapple had to be cut off.The easiest way to cut a pineapple - A pineapple corer review | Parental Perspective

Then I twisted the corer down into the pineapple. This was easier than I was expecting. As long as it is held at the right angle, it twists in easily.

I struggled a bit to remove the corer from the pineapple, but eventually it worked out.

The plastic top of the pineapple corer separates from the metal part so that you can slide the pineapple rings right off. How gorgeous does the pineapple spiral look?

Inside the pineapple you’re left with the core and some juice. These would be so much fun to drink out of for parties or special occasions.

The container on the left holds the pineapple I cut using just a knife. The one on the right holds the pineapple from using the corer. I ended up with a little more edible pineapple by cutting it up with a knife. The pineapple corer is so much faster and easier to use though. It also makes less of a mess. I’m glad I finally gave the pineapple corer a try because I love it. I wish I would have bought it sooner. Finally, cutting up pineapple isn’t such a chore.

OK, I usually hate gadgets, but I’d buy this. The pineapple shell is left in tack, you you could use it for a decorative display for food or drinks!

I don’t buy pineapples very often, but I do like them. I don’t like how much work it takes to cut them up. This gadget is great.

The corer really does take most of the hard work out of it.
