When I was a kid I used to create birthday cards on the computer using paint. Then I’d print them out on our black and white printer and give them proudly. The Silhouette has bumped my card making days up a notch don’t you think?
I can’t stop adding 3D cards to my library. When I see a new one I just have to have it! The second I saw this one with the squirrel in the tree I went nuts (awesomely lame pun intended). So cute!
For the front of the card I cut out this “nuts about you” phrase and added the squirrels and nuts border for the bottom. Super simple.
My paper stash consists of a few sheets of patterned scrapbooking paper and a few stacks of colored cardstock. Since all I had was boring old brown and I really wanted that wood grain look for the tree I had to come up with something. I ended up using a brown sketchpen to sketch this woodgrain circle before I cut the trunk and branches out. I was thrilled when it came out exactly as I had envisioned.
Here is a close up of the squirrel popping out of the tree.
It may still be a zillion degrees outside, but I’m ready for fall!
