Lots & Lots of Trains…A Review and Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

It is no secret that my son is obsessed with trains. He doesn’t like trains…he loves them. The only clothes he will willingly put on have trains on them. A drive by the train tracks creates more excitement than a trip to the playground. Trains are serious business around here.

Review & Giveaway of the Lots & Lots of Trains 3 DVD Set | Parental Perspective

We rented one of the Lots & Lots of Trains videos from the library once. He was so crazy about it that I had to sneak it out of the dvd player while he was napping and then hide it until I could return it without him noticing. Seriously. How do you explain to a two year old why you have to return their new favorite movie? I wasn’t about to figure that one out!

When Marshall Publishing offered to send us a 3 DVD set of Lots & Lots of Trains to review I jumped at the chance. This time I wouldn’t have to sneak it out of the house to return it. My little conductor could watch Lots & Lots of trains to his sweet little heart’s delight! And let me tell you, he did. Over, and over, and over again. I’ve heard it playing in the background so often that I find the Lots & Lots of Trains Theme Song running through my head all the time. Is it my thing? No, not exactly. But to see my son smile and jump up and down bursting with happiness…well that makes me one happy momma.

Review & Giveaway of the Lots & Lots of Trains 3 DVD Set | Parental Perspective

The Lots & Lots of Trains three volume set includes 3 hours of train footage on these DVDs:

Volume 1:  Smokin’ Steam & Diesel

Volume 2: Thunder On The Tracks

Volume 3: Roaring Down The Rails

We’ve watched each one numerous times. They’re not messing around when they say you’ll see lots and lots of trains. Between the three DVDs you’ll find all sorts of trains doing a little bit of everything. My son loves every single minute of it. He wants to be completely immersed in the train experience and these DVDs do exactly that for him. He gets to see trains and hear trains anytime he wants (which I’m not kidding would be every waking minute of the day if we let him). The scenes keep moving and changing so he never gets tired of watching. The songs are cute, but what he really loves is hearing all the sounds of the trains. We’ve been known to park near the train tracks just to let him watch the trains go by. While he still loves doing that the Lots & Lots of Trains DVDs make it an easy way to bring that experience home.
