Super simple homemade cloud dough kids/toodler activity | Parental Perspective

This cloud dough is super easy to whip up. All you need to do is grab some flour, baby oil, and a bin to play in. I picked up the baby oil and bin at the Dollar Tree, but if you have everything on hand even better! The “recipe” to create the cloud dough is simple. Just add 1 cup of baby oil for every 8 cups of flour used. I wanted to start with a small batch so I only used a couple cups of flour. Just place the flour in the bin, pour the baby oil in the middle, and use your hands to mix.

We did this activity outside because I didn’t want to deal with the inevitable mess inside the house. My toddler wasn’t sure about the cloud dough at first, but once he got his hands in it he couldn’t stop touching it. If you’re doing this activity with little ones, be careful they’re not putting it in their mouth because of the baby oil. It must not have looked tasty to my toddler because he didn’t even try to eat it.

I have an extra set of measuring cups and spoons we use for activities like this so I threw a few in there to play with.

Dinosaur (yes, that is his official name hehe) joined in on the fun. Of course he had a blast making tracks in the cloud dough.

When we were all done I stored the cloud dough in an air tight container for later. My son had such a great time playing that I’ll have to make more to add to it next time. Have you tried cloud dough yet?

It was messy but worth it since it kept him entertained for much longer than I was expecting. Have fun!
