We decided to do a little last minute decorating for Easter. Of course I turned to my favorite last minute crafting tool, my Silhouette Cameo. This garland is one of those simple projects you can create on a whim because it takes just a few supplies you probably already have handy.
You’ll need:
- Silhouette Cameo or Portrait
- white cardstock
- crayons, colored pencils, or markers
- glue (we used glue sticks to keep it simple)
- twine or ribbon
- tape
I found a set of matching eggs in the Silhouette Design Store from Lori Whitlock. You can find the designs here, here, and here. Once you open them up in Silhouette Studio you’ll cut 9 decorated eggs and 9 solid egg outlines from white cardstock. Gather the littles and have fun coloring the solid egg shapes.
Glue the decorated eggs to the front of the colored solid eggs. Silhouette’s adhesive cardstock would have made this step less messy, but, alas, I forgot to bring some with me.
I stand by my belief that everyone enjoys a little coloring time. My 3 year old son and 11 year old sister did a beautiful job don’t you think?
Tape the string to the back of the eggs and your Easter egg garland is ready to be hung.
I hope this kid friendly project adds a bit of colorful fun to your Easter!
Thank you, I needed something easy as I left it a bit late, this is perfect and the kids love it!
I’m so glad it was helpful! Hope you have a lovely Easter, Debra!
These are beautiful. I love the pastels with the white card stock. Really lovely and perfect for spring.
Thanks Kim! The Silhouette makes it so easy it feels like cheating sometimes :)
