DIY Vinyl Mixer Decals

I can’t live without my KitchenAid mixer. Mostly because of its glorious dough hook…oh how I love that dough hook! Homemade bread, pretzels, and pizza dough are a regular thing around here thanks to my KitchenAid. Seeing that bright green beauty just sitting on my counter brings a smile to my face. As far as I’m concerned it looks so great that it doubles as decor. I thought I’d brighten it up even more with vinyl decals.

I found a matryoshka image I liked from this printable coloring page. Then I imported the image into the Silhouette Design Studio and used the trace feature. Since I wanted the look of nesting dolls I resized it a few times. The flower was an image I found in the Silhouette online store. I set everything to cut and ran my piece of adhesive vinyl through my Silhouette. I’m still impressed by how well it does with such small, delicate pieces.

I used scissors to separate the matroshkas from the flowers just to make it easier to work with. Then I used my hook to weed out the vinyl I didn’t need.

I placed my transfer paper on top of each design. Using scissors I separated each flower.

Before I put the vinyl decals on my mixer I cleaned and dried the surface really well. Then I used tape to place each decal on the mixer. It gave me a chance to arrange each piece just the way I liked before adhering it.

To put each vinyl decal down I just peeled off the backing as I placed it on the mixer.

Then I smoothed it down with my thumb working from the center outward.

The transfer tape peeled right off.

The flowers were on the mixer in no time. Even larger pieces like the matryoshkas were easy to put on. I just started from the middle and worked my way out.

Just look at this thing! How could you not want this beauty sitting on your counter?

Super cute! Love the color combo.
I really wanted to do this but I don’t have a smooth KA mixer. Mine has a rough finish…but there are plenty of other things to add vinyl to in my house :)

      Hola,
It looks amazing and I’d like the same ^^
Is there any way you could send one by post (without the hook work) and I’ll pay in advance for your time and material… please…. pretty please?

I love this project so much! I need to find the “right” vinyl decals for my boring red mixer. ;)

I also need one of those covers for the bowl. How cool is that? Did you make it?

You know how I feel about vinyl projects. They’re quick, easy, and always end up looking great! Can’t wait to see what you put on your mixer Kim.

I made the cover a while back and it has been so useful. I get to show off my mixer while the bowl stays clean in between uses. Plus the fabric has these adorable little cupcakes and fruit on it.
