My 2 year old is doing so well recognizing letters. I thought it would be the perfect time to get him a set of foam letters for bath time. Then I remembered that the Dollar Tree carries sheets of craft foam. Once I picked up the foam these beauties took no time to crank out with the help of my lovely Silhouette Portrait.
The colors were bright and the thickness of the foam turned out to be perfect for the Silhouette. Gotta love the Dollar Tree!
I split the letters of the alphabet up into four different colored sheets. The font I chose for this project is Ariel Rounded MT in Bold. To get the letters about three inches tall I used 288pt text size.
These were the custom settings I found worked best for this foam:
- Speed: 2
- Thickness: 33
- Blade: 10
- Double Cut
When the machine is done cutting it might look like it didn’t cut all the way through. Don’t worry about it, it’s just the foam.
Gently peel the foam off and you’ll see it cut right through.
How easy and cheap was that? My son went crazy for these. You could cut out other simple shapes for even more bath time fun.
