I picked up this cookie jar for only $1.50 during Target’s Christmas clearance. The holiday design was pretty, but I needed something I could use all year round. With some vinyl and my Silhouette the problem was quickly solved.
I cut the label from black vinyl and the letters from coordinating blue vinyl. I used the hook to weed out the vinyl surrounding the letters.
Then I used transfer paper to pickup the letters and place it on the black label.
Using a scrapper I smoothed down the letters on the label and then removed the paper from the back of the black vinyl.
I placed the vinyl over the holiday design on the cookie jar. Since it was a curved surface I used my hands to smooth the label down and remove any air bubbles.
I love my upcycled cookie jar!
